Uppsala County (Uppsala län) is a county or län on the eastern coast of Sweden. It borders the counties of Stockholm, Södermanland, Västmanland, Gävleborg, and the Baltic Sea as its shown in Uppsala Sweden map. The province of Uppland encompasses Uppsala County. The County of Uppsala inherited its coat of arms from the province of Uppland. When it is shown with a royal crown it represents the County Administrative Board. Uppsala, län (county) in east-central Sweden. It lies between Mälaren (lake) on the south and the Gulf of Bothnia on the north as its mentioned in Uppsala Sweden map. It constitutes most of the western part of the landskap (province) of Uppland. The län low, level surface is drained by the Fyris River. Grain and potatoes are grown, and there is some stock raising and dairying. Major iron-ore deposits are found in the region around Dannemora, and there are several ironworks and steelworks. Sawmilling is predominant in the area near the mouth of the Dal River in the north, and there is a major hydroelectric plant located at Älvkarleby. The capital and largest city is Uppsala. Area 2,782 square miles (7,206 square km). Pop. (2005 est.) 302,564.
